Metta World Peace Doesn’t Mind Coming off Bench for Los Angeles Lakers

Every time I hear an announcer say “Metta World Peace” I cringe and crack a smile at the same time. It’s bitter-sweet to hear people say it — similar to what we went through with Chad Ochocinco — but it’s still ridiculous.

What’s not ridiculous is the fact that World Peace is willing to do whatever it takes to stay in a Los Angeles Lakers uniform. He doesn’t mind coming off the bench, and for a former NBA All-Star that’s a great thing to hear.

Of course he’s past his prime and even he would have a tough go-about disagreeing with that, but he still carries the capabilities of being productive, depending on your idea of production.

If you want a guy who can play 20-25 minutes a game and give you about 10 points per game with decent defending then World Peace is your guy.

He is averaging 9.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game this season.

When you are in a war you want battle-tested warriors. Even though World Peace’s best days are behind him, I wouldn’t mind having him on my side because he does have the ability to surprise the opposition.

He’s been through just about everything in this league, and if he truly wants to be a Laker I don’t see why he can’t come out on top once again.
